By downloading, installing, or using the Al-Muwatta App ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Hadith Texts: The texts of Al-Muwatta are part of the classical Islamic heritage. Translations used in the App are sourced from public domain or licensed sources including Sunnah.com and have been adapted for educational use.
Scholar Audio: Audio lectures from scholars are used with permission or under license. These recordings remain the intellectual property of their respective scholars and institutions. You may not redistribute audio content without express permission.
App Design & Code: The App's design, interface, and codebase are our intellectual property.
We take great care with the accuracy of hadith translations and scholarly content. However:

The App does not require account registration. Your personal data (notes, bookmarks, progress) is stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, App deletion, or operating system changes.
We recommend periodically backing up important notes you write in the App.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, spiritual decisions made based on App content, or technical failures.
We reserve the right to modify the App, add or remove features, or change these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify waitlist members of significant changes by email.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Borno State, Nigeria, or by mutual agreement through Islamic arbitration (Tahkim).
